Location: Midland-Odessa area, Texas
Work Arrangement: On-site
Project Duration: Approximately six months, subject to project requirements
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Reports To: Site O&M Lead / Program Manager - PRISMECS

Position SummaryPRISMECS is seeking an experienced Mechanical O&M Technician to support the operation and maintenance of a 40 MW temporary standby power system at the STN Landman Data Center project in Odessa, Texas.
The Mechanical O&M Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day mechanical operation, inspection, monitoring, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation of the diesel-generator fleet, consisting of approximately 32 generator trailers and 64 diesel engines.
The position will also support fuel systems and associated mechanical balance-of-plant equipment required for reliable operation of the temporary power facility.
Candidates must have hands-on diesel-generator operations and maintenance experience and must be willing to work rotating 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily inspection and monitoring of DG engines (coolant temp, oil temp/pressure, fuel rate, exhaust gas temp, battery voltage) and record readings in the site operations log
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on diesel generators per OEM maintenance schedules (oil/filter changes, coolant checks, belt/hose inspections)
- Monitor and manage fuel tank levels, fuel transfer operations, and fuel quality; coordinate refueling with fuel suppliers
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults (engine alarms, fuel system issues, cooling system issues) and coordinate repairs
- Support engine start-up, no-load run tests, and load-bank/commissioning activities
- Maintain spill kits, containment berms, and fuel system leak prevention measures
- Complete daily/shift mechanical logs and report abnormal conditions immediately to the O&M Lead
- Support EHS compliance - PPE use, LOTO procedures, spill response, and general site safety practices
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
- 3+ years of experience in diesel generator operations and maintenance (industrial/power generation environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of diesel engine systems (fuel, lubrication, cooling, exhaust)
- Experience with generator control panels (e.g., Woodward Easy Gen) preferred
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights/weekends
- OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training preferred
