The Project Scheduler plays a key role in helping APS plan and execute maintenance, facility, transmission, distribution, and plant outage work safely and efficiently. By developing and maintaining project schedules, this role helps teams coordinate resources, reduce downtime, and keep critical infrastructure operating reliably for the customers and communities APS serves.
What Your Day Would Be Like- Build and maintain schedules for plant outages, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate work activities to align equipment, workforce, and operational needs.
- Partner with project teams to support safe, efficient project execution.
- Monitor schedules and adjust plans to keep work on track and minimize disruptions.
- Experience developing and managing project or maintenance schedules.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Maximo, Primavera, or similar systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and priorities.
- Collaborative communicator who can coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
- High School Diploma and two (2) years related experience in a Plant, business operations/maintenance or facilities maintenance/management environment.
- Must possess a working knowledge of MS Windows and other computerized programs, including Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to learn and operate a Computerized Critical Path Maintenance System.
- Some travel to different sites, power plants, service centers and/or other facilities may be required.
- Prior plant, operations/maintenance or Facilities related experience and computerized maintenance management scheduling system tool experience preferred.
- Develop and maintain required schedules interfaces and provide scheduling information for cost and budget trend
- Using the Critical Path Maintenance Management System (i.e., Maximo), ensure activities are scheduled in the appropriate time frame to meet outage commitments, scheduled facilities or operations and maintenance functions or transmission/distribution project management.
- Plan/Coordinate schedule of work for annual facilities or operations preventive maintenance activities.
- Work with supply chain to bulk order needed supplies.
- Participate in the coordination and scheduling for minor capital project work.
- Maintain required schedule interfaces and provide scheduling information for cost and budget trend.
- Communicate with internal customers on all future work coming up.
- Run designated monthly reports to ensure efficiency and performance are being achieved.
- Routinely maintain critical databases and ensure maintenance records are maintained and up to date.
- Update and maintain weekly schedules/backlog.
- Ensure work packages are distributed on a timely basis.
