You will help improve AI systems by reviewing aviation maintenance and flight operations materials. Your work will test whether AI training data and model outputs accurately represent maintenance procedures, inspection findings, navigation information, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and annotate aircraft maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and related technical documents.
- Evaluate borescope engine inspection data and reports, identify anomalies, and recommend corrective actions using FAA standards.
- Assess composite structure inspection processes and results for alignment with regulatory requirements and industry practice.
- Interpret approach plates and flight operations briefing materials, then provide feedback on navigational and operational accuracy.
- Cross-reference maintenance tasks with FAA Parts 43, 121, 135, and 145.
- Provide clear written and verbal expertise to validate aviation AI training data and model outputs.
This is a remote, part-time contractor engagement for professionals based in the United States. English is required, and prior AI training or data-labeling experience is not required.
- Pay: $70 to $130 per hour.
- Schedule:
20 or more hours per week. - Location:
United States; US-based professionals are preferred. - Work arrangement:
Remote contractor engagement. - Credentials: FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate, Inspection Authorization, or equivalent Part 145 inspector status.
- Experience:
At least eight years of hands-on aircraft maintenance, inspection, and regulatory compliance experience. - Required expertise:
Interpreting borescope engine inspection imagery and reports; reading maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, and approach plates. - Regulatory knowledge:
Thorough practical knowledge of FAA Parts 43, 121, 135, and 145. - Other requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills and close attention to detail. - Helpful background:
Experience as a check airman or in aviation maintenance training and mentoring.
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples, including document review, annotation, and model evaluation. People with specialized knowledge are needed to judge whether AI outputs are accurate, useful, and compliant with real-world standards.
