We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support and improve the reliability, safety, and performance of mechanical systems across our facility. This role bridges engineering and maintenance, focusing on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance strategies, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable on the plant floor and working with data, drawings, and maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for mechanical maintenance activities, including troubleshooting of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
- Develop, optimize, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Analyze equipment failures and lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) efforts
- Support planning and execution of major repairs, overhauls, and shutdown activities
- Review equipment performance and recommend design or process improvements to improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment availability and safety
- Support maintenance documentation including procedures, job plans, bills of material, and equipment criticality rankings
- Assist with spare parts strategy, vendor coordination, and technical evaluations
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Manage capital projects, major maintenance projects, equipment installations, and commissioning as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance or reliability-focused role
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment and industrial power transmission
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, mining, metals, chemical, or energy environments
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP PM)
- Reliability engineering tools experience (RCFA, FMEA, vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.)
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or TPM initiatives
