We are seeking a highly skilled Siemens CNC Control Engineer to design, support, and maintain control software for advanced composite laying equipment. This role involves working with gantry and robotic manipulators, integrating CNC systems, and continuously improving control functionality and performance. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain control software for Siemens Operate platforms.
- Utilize TIA Portal for CNC integration and system development.
- Write and support code in Win Forms, C, C++, C#, and IEC 61131-3 PLC languages.
- Develop applications using Microsoft Visual Studio targeting Windows and Intime RTOS environments.
- Manage source code using Git and Mercurial.
- Support future HMI development using C# and/or Indusoft.
- Implement and maintain communication protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus-TCP, and Access databases.
- Optimize system performance and expand control system capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and engineering discussions.
- Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and software issues.
- Collaborate effectively within a team while also working independently when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for education).
- 5+ years of controls and software programming experience.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens CNC controls, ideally including Sinumerik One, 840D, Step 7, and TIA Portal.
- Strong knowledge of multi-axis servo systems, motion control, and robotic interfaces.
- Experience with sensor interfaces, I/O systems, fieldbus technologies, and machine safety integration.
- Familiarity with software quality processes and best practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment.

- Exposure to automated manufacturing or complex machinery environments.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions
