Overview

Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in the Columbus Ohio area to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on our Clinical Diagnostics instruments for customers in hospitals and laboratories. As a Field Service Engineer, you may also be asked to travel on short notice to support other team members within the region. Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, you will play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Bio-Rad customers.

In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in your assigned territory as part of a national service team. No day or week will look the same, and your work will have a direct impact on Bio-Rad’s success! The environment and culture for this role is fast-paced and you’ll be constantly “on the go”.

It requires the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining strong relationships with our customers.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad instruments, ensuring quality performance for customers who are advancing healthcare.
  • Support and maintain Bio-Rad instruments on which customers rely to advance healthcare research and treatments.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships to anticipate and advocate for customers' needs.
  • Adhere to FDA and GMP regulations with detailed record keeping and service documentation to protect Bio-Rad’s integrity and reputation.
What You Bring
  • Education/

    Work Experience:

    At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or military equivalent).
  • Ability to read, understand and follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.
Preferred Skills To Support Your Success
  • Hands-on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $64,900 to $89,200. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer and is based on location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus tied to individual objectives and Company performance.
