Salary: $93,000 - $96,500 per year

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Mass Spectrometry Service Specialist to join our team and play a key role in the installation, maintenance and repair of our Mass Spectrometry and related products. This position offers the opportunity to work hands‑on with advanced scientific instruments while also providing technical training and support to field personnel and customers. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical aptitude, problem‑solving skills and a passion for delivering top‑tier service.

Job Functions Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Perform repair, maintenance, and installation of instruments at customer sites.
  • Provide technical training to customers and internal teams.
  • Accurately document repairs, failures, and maintenance procedures, making recommendations for product improvements.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Manage repair parts inventory in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Provide remote technical support via phone and email to assist customers and field personnel.
  • Assist with the repair of instruments returned to the Corporate Service Center.
  • Collaborate with senior service personnel for continuous technical development.
  • Travel as required to support customers and internal teams.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports and documentation.
Education And Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a related field required;
    Bachelors preferred.
  • At least three years of hands‑on experience in Mass Spectrometry instrument repair, field service, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with electronic instruments, particularly in Mass Spectrometry systems.
  • Technical proficiency in diagnostics, maintenance, and installations, with a problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites to provide expert service, installations, and training.
