Position Summary: KONI, an entity of ITT Corporation’s Motion Technologies Division, has been in business for 150 years, involved in automobile dampers since 1932 and has produced adjustable telescopic dampers since 1945. Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving processes and systems in a production and warehouse environment. The role optimizes efficiency, quality, and safety of manufacturing and warehouse operations while minimizing costs. This position also handles repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines, and systems. The role may include inspection and test requirements in the production plan.

The Manufacturing Engineer inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems to ensure product quality. This position is based on site in Hebron, KY USA.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide advice regarding opportunities for improvement for productivity and efficiency.
  • Write investment proposals for machines, equipment, and tools.
  • Support/advise the R&D Department (implementation and possible production method, production costs and tests) to justify design, including calculating the change in production costs from design or process modification.
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers during the complete process; RFQ, Negotiation, on-site activities, and final inspection of the product or service (FAT and SAT).
  • Analyze project commands (production optimization, troubleshooting, product modifications, production deployment quality improvement processes, defect studies and corrective actions).
  • Collect information and determine required boundary conditions (product analysis, process analysis, market research, production process).
  • Formulate and implement plan of approach, program requirements, experiments, purpose and outcome of the project in consultation with senior management and production management.
  • Lead full-scale project management activities including planning with respect to time, quality and budget.
  • Search and analyze potential production technologies.
  • Support the Purchasing Department in supplier assessment and purchasing negotiations and guide customer audits.
  • Lead changes of plant layout based on new production means or process changes and/or optimization of production.
  • Responsible for project administration and training.
  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Purchasing, Production, Quality, Sales and external project partners.
  • Report project progress to management, including results, deviations and deviation causes.
  • Quickly respond to machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including motors, conveyors, and production machinery.
  • Replace worn or defective parts to prevent machine failures.
  • Calibrate and adjust machinery to ensure proper functionality.
  • Comply with business rules, environmental and safety requirements.
