Northrop Grumman Mission Systemsis searching for a Test Engineer/Principal Test Engineer to support our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department. As a member of the SEIT department, the candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make our technologies a reality. This position will serve on-site supporting the Sentinel Program, at our Woodland Hills, CA facility.
This position will be 100% on-site.
- Support the installation, integration, and testing of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom equipment used to further research efforts on superconducting microelectronic devices.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate equipment issues to support system build-out and sell-off.
- Communicate project status to the Integration and Test (I&T) IPT Lead.
- Collaborate with research scientists and systems engineers to perform system architecture characterization studies on various system components.
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods for individual pieces of equipment (both custom and COTS) and entire systems.
- Compile data and help to define changes required in testing methodology, equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, and new testing requirements.
- Performing hands‑on electrical testing at CCA level test setup and execution
- Performing hands‑on electrical testing at a systems level
- Incorporating hardware and/or software design changes
- Documenting & dispositioninghardwarediscrepancies,pursuing root cause & corrective actions
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Test (Level2)
- B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline with 2 years relevant work experience; or M.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline.
- Active DoD Secret Level security clearance.
- Experience in electrical testing, diagnostics, and formal requirements decomposition with traceability and verification.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues, lead problem-solving efforts, and drive tasks to completion.
- Working knowledge of standard test equipment: network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, and/or signal analyzers.
- Proficient in at least one of the following programming environments: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, and/or Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
