Responsibilities:
Automation & Controls
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen Bradley / Siemens) to ensure efficient machine operation.
- Perform diagnostics on control circuits, sensors, and communication networks; implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain and back up PLC programs and related documentation; assist in control upgrades and integration of new equipment.
- Independently perform advanced electrical wiring and troubleshooting for 24V, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including short circuits, grounding issues, and component failures, minimizing downtime.
- Execute PMs and rebuilds on motors, drives, and servo systems, maintaining alignment, calibration, and motor performance.
- Write, modify, and optimize programs for robots including calibration and system integration with PLCs, sensors, and vision systems.
- Perform robot PMs including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration; ensure motion paths and tool offsets meet production accuracy requirements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults on robots to minimize cycle loss and improve repeatability.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on Rubber Presses (Rep/LWB) and similar hydraulic or servo-driven machines.
- Calibrate temperature, pressure, and motion profiles to maintain process control and quality standards.
- Identify and replace faulty sensors, valves, or heating elements; verify system operation post-maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and adjust vision systems used in inspection and automation processes.
- Support program adjustments and calibration to maintain detection accuracy and reject control.
- Assist with system integration between vision, robotics, and PLC controls.
- Accurately document wiring changes, program modifications, PM results, and repair actions in CMMS.
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, arc-flash, and electrical PPE protocols per NFPA 70E.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Provide mentorship to maintenance technicians through on-the-job training and troubleshooting guidance.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects targeting OEE, scrap reduction, and equipment reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering to implement process improvements.
Education / Experience:
- Technical degree, industrial maintenance certification, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or automation support, preferably within automotive manufacturing.
- PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Keyence)
- Robotics Programming & Calibration (Fanuc, Moto man, Universal)
- Electrical & Control Wiring (24V-480V)
- Servo & VFD Drive Configuration
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
- Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex preferred)
- Reading Electrical Schematics, Diagrams & Prints
