Process Engineer I​/II

Marathon Petroleum Company’s Catlettsburg Refinery located in Catlettsburg, KY is seeking a Process Engineer I/II.

• Monitors process performance and identify opportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability.
• Assists in planning test runs and develops projects to address opportunities.
• Supports collaboration with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Develops relationships with console and field operators.
• Participates in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and management of change.
• Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
• Supports turnaround/outage execution; may review turnaround planning, including scope development and post-event evaluations.
• Maintains and updates process documentation.
• Troubleshoots and maintains unit mass balance within tolerance.
• Participates in technology advisory groups.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full‑time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
• Preferred:
  Two (2) years or more of experience in process engineering within refining, petrochemical, or related industries.
