The Kentucky Department of Parks is hiring a Water and Sewage Plant Operator I to help preserve and maintain one of Kentucky’s most significant historic landmarks.
Responsibilities- Operation and maintenance of a sewage treatment plant including pumps, lift stations, filters, and UV lights.
- Collect wastewater samples, perform tests, and add prescribed chemicals.
- Inspect gauges, record information, maintain required records and reports, and submit them as required.
- Work alongside team members and staff in all areas to accomplish the goals of the park, including mowing, weed‑eating, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, carpentry, and other general maintenance.

Education: High school graduate.

Skills:
One year in the operation of a water and/or sewage plant.

Special Requirements (Age, Licensure, Regulation, etc.): Must have a valid Class I (or higher) water treatment operator’s license and/or a Class I (or higher) wastewater operator’s license as issued by the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
