Position SummaryThe Facility SH&E Specialist coordinates and executes safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring a culture of safety where each employee is accountable. The role interacts with employees on the manufacturing floor, maintains assessments to identify hazards, and collaborates with onsite teams to eliminate identified hazards, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities- Foster and develop a culture where safety, health, and environment are core values and everyone believes zero incidents are achievable.
- Actively participate on the SH&E Team and other assigned teams, coaching and developing operations line supervision to be effective SH&E leaders.
- Analyze SH&E conditions and recommend changes to improve performance to world‑class levels and maintain an audit‑ready state of compliance.
- Develop and implement SOPs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies, including federal, state, and local legislation.
- Review, analyze, critique and approve engineering design development reports, plans, and specifications for compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Drive implementation of best‑in‑class SH&E programs, systems, and processes, including training and coaching to establish clear procedures and precautions.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or safety subject area or related field preferred; equivalent years of experience considered.
- 3‑5 years of experience coordinating Safety, Health, and Environmental sustainability activities in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations and local equivalents and their application to site operations.
- Professional certifications in SH&E related fields (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP, CIH) considered beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to build teams across all levels and functions with respect, tact, and impactful outcomes.
- Decision‑making: capable of making well‑informed decisions in routine and emergency situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, engaging audiences with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to develop mutually beneficial solutions to challenges.
- Team leadership, living and promoting Nestlé Leadership Principles for others.
