Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Electronics - RF Antenna Cosite to join the team of qualified individuals in our Avionics and Subsystems Organization
. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL
.

In this role you will be supporting the overall development and integration of RF Subsystems, including analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and integration of communications and other RF subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into derived specifications
  • Perform Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysis
  • Conducting detailed trade studies
  • Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
  • Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
  • Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
  • Identifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
  • Performing aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-off
  • Support technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Must have knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Must have the ability to design, select and characterize RF components to meet mission objectives
  • Must have experience in Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co-site) analysis
  • Must have designing, integrating, testing, installing, operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications
  • Must have experience with voice, military and network waveforms
  • Must have experience with cryptographic implementations
  • Must have experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
  • Must have demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
  • Must have knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
