The Project Manager for Technical Projects is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing technical projects onboard the ship according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources, coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants, and overseeing quality control throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires an understanding of ship systems, technical engineering, and project management principles.
Additionally, the Project Manager must ensure all projects comply with maritime regulations and safety standards, adapting to the dynamic environment of cruise ship operations. Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to, ship technical systems and machinery, energy conservation, decarbonisation initiatives, and environmental compliance.
Project Planning and Scope Definition:
Define detailed specifications for work that needs to be performed, full-scale plan, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with Technical Operations Managers, Technical Directors, and other stakeholders.Project Management:
Manage schedules to ensure optimal performance, compliance, efficiency. Plan the execution of new system commissioning and ensure training for new systems is being provided before handover the new system to the vessel.Resource and Budget Management:
