About Open Train
Open Train AI is the hiring and contracting organization for this role. Open Train is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling, helping contributors discover projects, build a professional profile, and apply in minutes.
This contract opportunity lets you use your electrical engineering expertise to help improve the quality of advanced AI systems while working remotely with a technical contributor community.
About AI Training and Data LabelingAI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Specialists review model outputs, write and rank responses, evaluate technical reasoning, and provide structured feedback that helps AI systems become more accurate and useful.
In this project, your engineering judgment will help assess whether AI-generated explanations, calculations, analyses, and recommendations are technically sound, clearly written, consistent, and safe.
The RoleOpen Train AI is recruiting an Electrical Engineering Quality Assurance Lead to review AI-generated electrical engineering content and trainer QA work. You will evaluate circuit analysis, calculations, design recommendations, troubleshooting workflows, standards awareness, unit consistency, safety considerations, and adherence to detailed rubrics.
The role also includes giving written feedback, communicating quality updates, supporting contributor onboarding, maintaining project documentation, and helping remote trainers and QAs stay aligned with evolving engineering guidelines.
- Contractor and part-time opportunity
- 20+ hours per week
- U.S.
-based applicants - English-language work
- Pay: $105 USD per hour
You will combine electrical engineering expertise with careful, rubric-based evaluation. Your reviews will identify both obvious technical errors and subtler issues involving assumptions, reasoning, safety, and communication.
- Review electrical engineering explanations, circuit analyses, diagrams, calculations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Check work for technical accuracy, flawed assumptions, unsafe recommendations, missing units, and unclear reasoning.
- Evaluate AI-generated technical explanations against detailed project rubrics.
- Provide precise written feedback on calculations, assumptions, design logic, and overall quality.
- Communicate project updates to trainers and quality assurance contributors.
- Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
- Support onboarding and training calls for remote contributors.
- Flag recurring quality issues and help improve QA workflows for electrical engineering projects.
This opportunity is listed at the entry level, while the role requirements call for substantial technical preparation and professional experience. Candidates should review the qualifications carefully before applying.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, power engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in electrical engineering or related technical review work.
- Strong knowledge of circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetics, signals and systems, power systems, control systems, and electrical safety.
- Ability to review AI-generated technical explanations against detailed rubrics.
- Experience giving clear written feedback on calculations, assumptions, and design logic.
- Familiarity with trainer or QA workflows in remote technical teams.
- Strong English communication and documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Experience with AI training, rubric-based evaluation, technical content quality assurance, or remote team coordination is highly valued. These skills can help you identify recurring quality patterns and communicate actionable improvements to contributors.
