What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineer I to join our development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and enhancing the test systems used for the repair and manufacturing of our cutting-edge products, including specialty printers, mobile computers, and laser scanners. The ideal candidate will apply their programming and engineering knowledge to develop robust test software, contribute to hardware design, and ensure the quality and reliability of our test solutions.

You will be responsible for documenting your work, validating test systems using Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and supporting products throughout their lifecycle. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your skills in automation, data analytics, and problem-solving while contributing to the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Test software development along with some hardware design of manufacturing test systems for calibration & functional testing of electronic devices and opto-mechanical electronic products. Such products include specialty printers, mobile computers, laser & imaging scanning products.
  • Document test solutions, drawings, schematics and specifications as per departmental practices.
  • Learn and perform Measurement validation and acceptance criteria using Measurement System Analysis (MSA) tools to validate the designed test system (Cpk, GR&R).
  • Support product testing during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase as well as sustaining support.
  • Undertake manufacturing system Automation projects to optimize manufacturing lines with the goal to improve product quality, line efficiencies and throughput using LSS and I4.0 Framework
  • Under supervision makes changes to or upgrades existing systems. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions seeking new tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Be able to exchange ideas and articulate designs for test systems with peers and others in solution architecture.

This position requires hybrid work (3 days/week in office) in the Holtsville, NY office. This position is expected to start in Summer 2027.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronics/Computer Sc./Physics) or Major in Physics
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Key Skills and Competencies
  • Successful completion of a Zebra Technologies Internship
  • Working knowledge with some experience in Python scripting, Labview, C++
  • Basic knowledge on Data analytics tools and development - Power BI/Looker
  • Basic understanding to perform technical analysis with problem-solving capability associated with the manufacturing or functionality of electronic systems

Pay Range:

$61,040.00 - $91,560.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation:

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 5% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
