- Manage engineering project schedules and capital investment projects.
- Review new product designs and recommend improvements to enhance manufacturability and process performance.
- Develop equipment and tooling specifications and oversee equipment installation, startup, and production trials.
- Design and optimize injection molding and assembly processes to meet quality, delivery, cost, safety, and productivity targets.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, work instructions, risk assessments, and trial reports.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve process performance and reduce defects.
- Support Kaizen and continuous improvement activities using Lean and TPS principles.
- Design or specify End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), fixtures, and manufacturing equipment.
- Train and support technicians on new equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, suppliers, and customers to support successful product launches and ongoing production.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with thermoplastics, injection molding processes, mold construction, and resin processing.
- Knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding principles and automotive manufacturing standards.
- Experience with robotics programming and automation systems (Fanuc, Star, or similar preferred).
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to develop Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), conduct design reviews, and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS), Lean Manufacturing, TS, and ISO requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and Visio)
- AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar CAD software
- 3D printing and basic fabrication tools
- Injection molding equipment, automation, and robotics
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
- Frequent standing and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Moderate noise levels with occasional exposure to heat and humid conditions.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
