What Your Contribution Will Be
- Provide specialized support on air quality permitting and compliance for large-scale capital projects.
- Help shape environmental strategies for multinational clients across a range of industries.
- Support forward-looking climate efforts, including greenhouse gas reduction initiatives and energy efficiency programs.
- Develop strong working relationships with regulators and key stakeholders to help projects move forward successfully.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance, with 4 or more years preferred.
- Practical experience with air quality permitting and compliance programs such as construction permits, Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT.
- Strong analytical ability, including comfort with spreadsheets and databases.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-moving environment.
- Willingness to travel to client locations when needed.
- This role does not offer immigration sponsorship.
- An advanced degree in a related discipline.
- Experience working on climate-related initiatives such as greenhouse gas inventories and emissions reduction planning.
- Familiarity with New York’s Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA), including GHG and co-pollutant reduction strategies.
- Knowledge of emerging Low Carbon Fuel Standards and more complex permitting frameworks.
- Work closely with Project Managers on projects involving EHS and air quality compliance, sustainability, contaminated site management, and transaction due diligence.
- Carry out air quality analyses and determine regulatory applicability.
- Prepare, manage, and coordinate air quality permits, including Title V, PSD, NSR, State Facility Permits, and Air Registrations, while communicating with regulatory agencies.
- Develop emissions inventories and evaluate pollution control options.
- Assist with climate-related programs, including disclosure and verification activities.
- Support compliance efforts related to RACT, BACT, LAER, and MACT, while providing practical recommendations.
- Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and timeline expectations, while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and work with ERM’s broader national team of experts.
- Support Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers in the effective execution and management of projects.
