Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

The Project Manager II is responsible for the effective management and execution of small to medium Cap Ex and OpEx projects at Pinto Valley Mine. Under direct supervision, this role supports projects from project justification and feasibility through engineering, procurement, construction, and completion while maintaining control of scope, cost, schedule, safety, and quality. The position develops Project Charters, AFEs, Scope of Work documents, project forecasts, and safety plans;

monitors project spending and progress; coordinates engineering and construction activities; and provides timely project reporting. The role requires the ability to understand the Project Management Process, read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, use SAP, review technical documents, conduct bid walks, evaluate bid submittals, facilitate meetings, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve HSEC, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Cost objectives.

• Safety & Compliance: Exemplify Capstone Copper Values and work in compliance with all MSHA safety guidelines and Pinto Valley Mine policies and procedures.
• Project Development: Compile cost estimates and develop project justification, Project Charters, AFEs, Scope of Work documents, forecasts, and safety plans to obtain project approval and support successful project execution.
