- Responsible for developing, evaluating and designing plant projects and modifications that improve efficiency and reliability. These projects will enhance plant safety, environmental compliance and mechanical integrity.
- Interface with outside consultants and vendors.
- Provide complete project management for capital projects including budgeting, scheduling, directing work scope and supervising all project-related activities.
- Propose new work procedures that will impact efficiency and effectiveness.
- Accountable for the successful development, design and execution of projects.
- Provide technical support for plant operations and maintenance.
- Develop individual equipment specifications and provide recommendations on technology and bid selection.
- Provide leadership and supervision to peers, contractors and team members.
- Communicate with outside vendors, contract engineering services, and industry groups.
- Provide field supervision support for work on critical equipment.
- Ensure drawing reviews and specific Management of Change Orders are reviewed on a timely basis.
- Participate in equipment inspections, process safety reviews and process hazard analysis.
- Participate in facility turnarounds, including any required 24-hour shift coverage and support for individual process callout requirements.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Minimum 5 years engineering experience in oil, gas or chemical industries.
- Experience with capital and operating cost estimating and economic analysis.
- Working knowledge and experience with Process Safety Management programs.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with mechanical integrity programs.
- Ability to analyze, reason and solve increasingly complex problems.
- Ability to adjust schedule and to meet business priorities.
