Airbus is looking for a Summer Intern - Cabin Engineering to join our Design and Analysis Teams based in Mobile, AL You will work with engineering teams supporting various aspects of cabin engineering from design, analysis, and certification of components associated with the interiors of commercial aircraft. The design work entails working inside our design tools and learning about design of components and its integration within an aircraft.
Our analysis and certification work comprises evaluating stress, flammability, and weight impacts of various designs and validating they are compliant with standards and regulations of commercial aviation.

Your Working EnvironmentThe Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

- August 2027 Must be willing to relocate to Mobile, AL for the duration of the summer internship opportunity Dedicated project mentor Project presentation with leadership team and roundtable discussion
- Participate in various engineering improvement and innovation projects such as automation, digitalization, API/web application development, data analytics depending on the student's capability Generate engineering reports and templates as required to support current projects Organize engineering data and provide assistance to route documents for review Generate weekly status report to capture progress of related engineering activities Attend and record minutes of meetings and coordinate with internal or external customers on projects as required.
- Assist in the development of presentation material (predominantly illustration development and data presentation.)
- Support department in generating worksheets, drafting of engineering documents, archiving.
- Compile results data into useful formats for future references.
Enrolled in an accredited, full-time 4-year engineering degree program in Mechanical, Aeronautical / Aerospace / Civil / Systems / Electrical / Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science Minimum Sophomore level or enrolled in a Master's degree program is acceptable Authorized to Work in the US without need of current, or future, visa sponsorship Experience in leading engineering projects as a student, or have previous intern work experience leading projects independently, or as a research assistant working on projects under supervision at the university Knowledge and experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Web Development/API Development Have good programming skills such as Python/C++/R Experience with Systems Engineering and application of MBSE in the design process Familiar with engineering tools such as Computer Aided design (CAD) and/or Analysis tools such as MathCAD, Nastran/Patran Able to work with Google or Microsoft Suites Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bill of material systems. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Knowledge of maintenance repair shop practices, equipment and capabilities. A strong computer background, including MS Office application experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail). Able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings; daily.
Hearing: able to hear in order to participate in conversations in personal and via teleconference or phone and to hear safety warnings or alarms; daily.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications; daily
