The Lab Technician will support Transcend’s growing in-house testing capabilities by performing analytical evaluations related to contaminant identification, particle characterization, filter media integrity, and separation efficiency. This role is essential to helping customers resolve process upsets, verify filtration performance, and ensure our engineered solutions deliver measurable results. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate laboratory instruments used in contamination analysis and filter testing.
YourResponsibilities Will Be:
Laboratory Testing & Analysis
- Conduct testing to identify particle size, physical characteristics, and chemical composition of
- contaminants to support root cause analysis.
- Perform microscopy and spectroscopy analyses including SEM and Energy Dispersive
- Spectroscopy (EDS).
- Evaluate filter porosity, media integrity, and chemical composition of new and used filters to
- support optimization of filter performance.
- Support collaboration with third-party labs for filter efficiency and separation performance testing.
- Generate detailed test reports summarizing findings, results, and recommended next steps for customers.
- Assist engineering teams with data collection needed for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) validation and advanced technical service projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation, lab records, and sample tracking.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning laboratory environment.
- Work with field service technicians, application engineers, and product specialists to ensure seamless integration of lab insights into customer solutions.
- Provide timely support to customers by contributing to Transcend’s commitment to quick turnaround lab solutions.
- Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or related field. (prefered)
- 1+ year of laboratory experience (academic or professional).
- Familiarity with microscopy, filtration testing, or chemical analysis methods.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with SEM/EDS, filtration media testing, or industrial process analysis.
- Background in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial contamination analysis.
- Knowledge of CFD-related data inputs or separation technologies.
