As a Civil Engineer on our Land Development team, you’ll work alongside civil engineers, geomatics professionals, landscape architects, environmental scientists, planners, and transportation engineers across VHB’s East Coast footprint.

How You’ll Make an Impact
Responsibilities
- Work within a collaborative team to develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of land development projects.
- Prepare site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and related design elements using
AutoCAD Civil 3
Dand other tools. - Contribute to construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports, with a focus on accuracy and high-quality work.
- Support stormwater management, utility design, and sustainable site design solutions that improve community resilience.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in other VHB offices and disciplines—including transportation, environmental, and planning—on integrated project teams.
- As you gain experience, help train and mentor junior staff on technical standards, tools, and best practices.
- Participate in professional organizations and business development activities as your interests and experience grow.

- Familiarity with land development processes; knowledge of Massachusetts-area codes, ordinances, and development regulations is a plus.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineeringor a related degree.
- 1–3+ yearsof civil engineering experience (internship, co-op, or full-time) in land development, site design, or related areas.
- EIT licensure or FE Exam passedpreferred (or in progress).
- Proficiency inAutoCAD Civil 3
DandMS Office(Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- HydroCAD, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS
- Microsoft Project
- BIM 360 or similar cloud collaboration platforms
