The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a
Project Manager I – W/WW to join our Lexington, KY office.

This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career engineer ready to take on project management responsibilities while continuing to grow under the guidance of senior staff. You will support and manage a variety of municipal and private-sector water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including distribution and collection systems, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment plant improvements.

This position provides an opportunity to expand technical expertise while developing project leadership, client coordination, and project delivery skills within a collaborative engineering environment.

What You’ll Do:

As a Project Manager I, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients. You will manage smaller projects independently and contribute to larger projects under the guidance of senior project managers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage small to mid-sized water and wastewater projects with oversight from senior project managers.
  • Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact, facilitating meetings, gathering project information, and providing project updates.
  • Coordinate internal design efforts by assigning tasks to engineers and technicians and monitoring project progress.
  • Support QA/QC efforts by reviewing plans, calculations, and technical deliverables.
  • Prepare engineering design documents, technical reports, cost estimates, and permitting packages.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, utilities, subconsultants, and regulatory reviewers throughout project development.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, including technical content, resumes, project descriptions, and cost inputs.
  • Track project performance, assist with invoicing, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that supports communication, problem solving, and efficient project delivery.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or related infrastructure projects.
