Responsibilities- To Participate and Review Data Center MEP Design and other necessary disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fitouts
- Participate in Testing and Commissioning Discussions to determine required tests to verify design elements.
- Support the DC Engineering FM team to become a Subject Matter Expert and understand how to overcome design limitations and risks.
- Conduct a periodic Audit or Assessment to access the effectiveness and practicality of the design in-use on our data centers
- Be our ambassador to explain data center infrastructure design to visitors
- To continually find ways to collaborate and break new ground to enhance MEP design to meet future needs.
- Continually maintain positive and collaborative working relations with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations necessary to determine capacity requirements (i.e., TIA-942, ASHRAE)- Understand Power Redundancy and how it is implemented in design (i.e., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant)
- Experience with Cooling Redundancy and how Concurrent Maintainability is implemented in design (i.e., N+1 or N+2).
- Experience in the following areas:
- Lead or influence a Design and Architect team to complete Data Center Conceptual >30%>60%>90% Detailed Design Process.
- Practice Data Center Tiering Standards (i.e., TIA-942 Rated 3, or Uptime Tier
3) in a detailed design process.
- Lead or influence a construction team to complete Data Hall fit-out experience, including IT services Coordination, Power and Cooling Planning.
- Lead or influence a testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate the system design intent and resolve technical problems along the way.
- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
