Explore a career with Voltari Electric & help us drive the next generation of high-performance EV marine technology.

TEAM MEMBERS AT VOLTARI ELECTRIC CANADA IN FRONT OF A PATROL 26

Voltari is seeking an exceptional Senior Naval Architect to lead the next chapter of our vessel design evolution. This is a unique opportunity to shape the naval architecture of advanced deep-V offshore platforms and next-generation USV closed-deck models at a company pushing the boundaries of electric marine propulsion, mission-capable craft, and advanced government-focused vessel design.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with deep experience in small craft naval architecture, especially on deep-V hull forms, offshore performance, and high-speed vessels where operator safety, ride comfort, seakeeping, and structural integrity are critical. Experience in racing craft, military vessels, naval programs, or government/military applications is highly valued.

In this role, you will lead the development of Voltari’s core hull design and help capture the essence of our offshore pedigree while advancing our future across EV and USV platforms. You will work closely with leadership, engineering, production, and external partners to define, refine, and execute vessel designs that are efficient, robust, and purpose-built for demanding operators and institutional customers.

This is an opportunity for a naval architect who wants more than incremental drafting work. You will have the chance to build, influence, and lead within a company that is bringing new technology, advanced propulsion, and mission-ready design into the marine sector.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead naval architecture development for Voltari's deep-V offshore and USV closed-deck platforms.
  • Own hull form development, performance optimization, stability analysis, and seakeeping considerations.
  • Collaborate on structural and systems integration with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure vessel designs prioritize operator safety, comfort, durability, and mission effectiveness.
  • Support the design and development of government, institutional, and military-oriented craft.
  • Work with leadership to define product architecture, design standards, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Interface with regulators, classification bodies, and external consultants as needed.
  • Contribute to concept development through production support and sea trial feedback.
Primary Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • Significant experience in small craft naval architecture, ideally with deep-V hulls and offshore vessels.
  • Strong background in performance craft, racing, military, patrol, or similar high-demand applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to design for speed, sea kindliness, safety, and structural efficiency.
  • Experience with vessel stability, weight control, hydrodynamics, and design tradeoffs.
  • Experience with Stepped and non-stepped hulls.
  • Familiarity with composite or advanced marine construction methods.
  • Ability to work independently and lead design efforts from concept through execution.
  • Experience working with or around government, defense, or institutional marine customers is a strong asset.
Optional/Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.
  • Desire to influence product direction rather than simply execute predefined tasks.
  • Interest in emerging marine technologies, electric propulsion, and unmanned surface vessels.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines while maintaining a strong technical point of view.
