BOLT Intern - System Design Engineer

What We Are Looking For

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. System Design engineers are responsible for capacity management, operational support, and developing expansion designs for natural gas transmission systems utilizing pipeline hydraulic simulation models. The System Design intern will be introduced to hydraulic modeling software, how it is used to develop feasibility studies to meet proposed business development opportunities and how those studies are documented and archived. Using the hydraulic modeling software detailed engine/compressor analysis tools, the intern will develop, export and catalog operational envelopes of all Kinder Morgan’s West Region engine/compressor sets.

Additionally, the intern will assist the team by developing a process through which historical feasibility studies can be easily cataloged and retrieved.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Self‑motivated with demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Ability to function effectively in both a team and individual environment
• Attention to detail and strong computer skills are essential
• Entering either the junior or senior year of college
• Minimum GPA required: 3.0

• Mechanical Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• May consider Civil or Electrical Engineering on a secondary basis
