Position OverviewThis position validates drivetrain systems and turns test data into engineering insight, identifying product risks that influence design decisions and support new and current product introduction (NPI/CPI) execution. The role directly improves drivetrain performance, durability, reliability, and quality, and supports program cost and schedule commitments.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with design, controls, and cross-functional teams to define validation requirements and influence design decisions.
- Plan, prepare, and execute drivetrain component and system validation testing.
- Prepare and instrument test units, including test setups and data acquisition needs.
- Analyze complex test data, compare results to requirements, and identify performance gaps.
- Apply system-level thinking to evaluate component interactions and tradeoffs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues during testing.
- Perform inspections, failure analysis, and support structured root cause investigations.
- Support build events, validation activities, and issue resolution for new and current product programs.
- Document test procedures, results, and conclusions in clear technical reports.
Coordinate with design, controls, and lab teams to plan validation work, execute drivetrain tests, review data, troubleshoot issues, and document results. The role balances hands-on test activity with engineering analysis, cross-functional communication, and follow-up actions that support product programs and product quality.
Education & Experience Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred with 2-4 years of relevant experience OR
- Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
