We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative Mechanical Engineer I to join an enterprise engineering team at the clients Campus. In this role, you will evaluate and verify discipline engineering design packages, ensure contractor alignment with stringent company and industry standards, and help drive capital efficiency across key project initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with strong technical foundations and clear communication skills to gain hands-on experience stewarding major energy infrastructure and design workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Review & Quality Assurance: Evaluate and comment on mechanical engineering deliverables, design drawings, and technical documentation produced internally and by third-party engineering contractors.
Compliance & Standards Stewardship: Ensure all mechanical designs strictly comply with company specifications, industry codes, and regulatory safety requirements.
Deviation Management: Identify, assess, and document technical deviations from contract specifications; maintain and update the project Deviation Control Log in accordance with corporate management-of-change procedures.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination: Steward technical queries (RFIs/TQRs) from engineering contractors and subcontractors; participate in on-site engineering and vendor design reviews as required.
Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate technical alignment across multi-disciplinary engineering teams, keeping the Lead Engineer and Engineering Manager proactively informed of progress, risks, and execution challenges.
Capital Efficiency & Best Practices: Support Global Practice initiatives and identify opportunities to drive capital efficiency and design optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent professional engineering experience.
Technical Knowledge: Working familiarity with mechanical design standards, industry specifications, standard piping/vessel/machinery codes, and plant safety criteria.
Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to manage tight delivery schedules, shifting priorities, and high-volume technical reviews effectively.
Tools & Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with engineering document management systems is a plus.
