Impact Staffing International (ISI) is seeking a Program Logic Control Technician to join our client's Engineering team. This role will provide remote PLC and controls support to plant operations across North America while assisting with automation projects and electrical drawings.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity based in Cold Spring, Kentucky
, in the greater Cincinnati area. The role is primarily office-based, includes approximately 20% travel
, and follows a four-day, 10-hour workweek

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, controls systems, and related equipment remotely.
- Log into plant systems, diagnose PLC issues, analyze ladder logic, and guide on-site teams through repairs.
- Write basic PLC programs and support modifications to existing ladder logic.
- Support Rockwell / Allen-Bradley systems and escalates issues when needed.
- Assist with installations, upgrades, preventive maintenance, and small automation projects.
- Work with variable voltage circuits, 4-20mA circuits, three-phase power up to 480V, and related electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Update AutoCAD Electrical drawings, as-builts, and drawing sets.
- Communicate clearly with plant personnel across varying levels of technical expertise.
- Participate in an alternating 24/7 on-call rotation every other week.
Required Skills and Background:
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting and programming PLC systems, ideally 2 to 5 years.
- Two-year technical degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, or a related field.
- Hands-on PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic programming experience.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems related to PLC-controlled equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and remote support skills.
- Comfortable working in heavy industrial plant environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a related technical field.
- AutoCAD Electrical experience.
- Experience with multiple PLC platforms.
- Previous remote controls or technical support experience.
- Location:
Cold Spring, Kentucky - Schedule: Four 10-hour days, typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday
- Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site when not traveling
