Entry Level Engineering/Design Construction, Installation and Mechanical
Position Summary:Responsible for assisting with structural and civil engineering tasks for residential and commercial post-frame building projects, working under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.
Position Type:- 0-5 years of experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
- Assist with structural design and analysis of post-frame and related building projects
- Prepare and modify building plans and construction details using AutoCAD
- Prepare and review plans, details, and calculations for columns, trusses, connections, foundations, and other structural elements
- Assist with structural calculations using applicable building codes and engineering standards
- Coordinate with drafting and design staff to ensure drawings are accurate and code-compliant
- Help respond to field questions, RFIs, and construction-related engineering issues
Civil Engineering
- Perform land-use, zoning, and ordinance reviews for site feasibility
- Prepare and modify site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D (building locations, setbacks, grading, drainage, access, parking)
- Assist with grading, stormwater management, and erosion/sedimentation control plans
- Prepare and coordinate building and site permit applications
- Work with internal teams and outside agencies to resolve permitting issues
- Support development of standard details, design tools, templates, and internal procedures
- Help improve consistency, efficiency, and quality across engineering and drafting processes
- Collaborate with sales, drafting, operations, and construction teams
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field, required
- EIT certification/FE exam passage preferred, or willingness to obtain within 18 months of hire
- Experience with Excel, required
- Related experience/skills (preferred, but not required):
- Structural analysis (wood, steel, and/or concrete)
- Revit or structural/civil analysis software
- Must be detail-oriented with strong accuracy in calculations and documentation
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with sales, drafting, construction, and other team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, constructability-focused mindset
- Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
