Junior Civil​/Structural Engineer

Entry Level Engineering/Design Construction, Installation and Mechanical

Responsible for assisting with structural and civil engineering tasks for residential and commercial post-frame building projects, working under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

• 0-5 years of experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)

• Assist with structural design and analysis of post-frame and related building projects
• Prepare and modify building plans and construction details using AutoCAD
• Prepare and review plans, details, and calculations for columns, trusses, connections, foundations, and other structural elements
• Assist with structural calculations using applicable building codes and engineering standards
• Coordinate with drafting and design staff to ensure drawings are accurate and code-compliant
• Help respond to field questions, RFIs, and construction-related engineering issues

Civil Engineering

• Perform land-use, zoning, and ordinance reviews for site feasibility
• Prepare and modify site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D (building locations, setbacks, grading, drainage, access, parking)
• Assist with grading, stormwater management, and erosion/sedimentation control plans
• Prepare and coordinate building and site permit applications
• Work with internal teams and outside agencies to resolve permitting issues
• Support development of standard details, design tools, templates, and internal procedures
• Help improve consistency, efficiency, and quality across engineering and drafting processes
• Collaborate with sales, drafting, operations, and construction teams

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field, required
• EIT certification/FE exam passage preferred, or willingness to obtain within 18 months of hire
• Experience with Excel, required
• Related experience/skills (preferred, but not required):
• Structural analysis (wood, steel, and/or concrete)
• Revit or structural/civil analysis software

• Must be detail-oriented with strong accuracy in calculations and documentation
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with sales, drafting, construction, and other team members
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, constructability-focused mindset
• Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
