Job Summary

Are you interested in seeing how electrical engineering helps keep the power grid safe and reliable? Dominion Energy Virginia's Electric Transmission-Substation Engineering department is seeking an engaged student to join the Protection & Control (P&C) Design Team for Summer 2027. In this hands-on internship, you will work with engineers, technical specialists, drafters, project managers, relay settings engineers, communications engineers, material coordinators, panel shop personnel, and field technicians. You will contribute to active substation projects, learn how designs progress from scope through construction and energization, and gain exposure to the technical decisions that support safety, reliability, quality, and constructability. You will also receive mentoring, participate in site visits and networking opportunities, and complete a summer project or technical presentation that connects your academic learning to real utility work.
