• is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Independence, OH. Over 10-12 weeks, you will assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry, with a focus on HVAC.
This paid, mentored internship offers real project experience alongside experienced engineers and consultants. You will support multidisciplinary healthcare-focused work, contribute to project coordination and documentation, and help deliver projects that align with budgets, client expectations, and advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP
2050 and AIA
2030.

Work Schedule:
Full-time in office
Program Length: 10-12 week summer program
What You'll Do- Assist with design portions of mechanical-system projects according to code and ·••
• standards - Research commercially available equipment for project use
- Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
- Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier partners
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Veterans Administration, Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Cleveland Metro, University of Akron Polymer Institue and Cleveland State.

State of Ohio Salary Range: $22.00/hr–$24.00/hr
