Product Specialist - Cold End

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Lead full-system and subsystem product development to meet targets for durability, noise, NVH, heat management, safety, and manufacturability.
• Translate customer specifications and DVP requirements into internal validation plans.
• Coordinate CAD, FEA, CFD, NVH, and manufacturing teams to ensure cold ends are developed, validated, and manufacturable.
• Ensure subsystem and component level development and validation; support physical vehicle-level validation.
• Define design content considering generic, carryover, and innovative components.
• Support programs during acquisition phase.
• Lead internal design reviews to promote generic solutions, cost control, and manufacturability.
• Create and maintain generic DFMEAs incorporating lessons learned.
• Lead problem solving and root cause analysis for test failures.
• Represent NAO in global network activities, sharing lessons learned and supporting standards development.
• Support Purchasing in supplier technical reviews and VAVE activities.
• Evaluate DCS deviations and approve or reject as appropriate.
• Create, update, and release engineering generics and specifications for related systems, subassemblies, and components.
• Provide product training to the engineering community.

The company is looking for:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in engineering; automotive background preferred.
• Proven ability with CAE tools (CFD, FEA, Flow Simulation) is a plus.
• Knowledge or exposure to NVH.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• General automotive knowledge;
  Tier I or OEM engineering experience preferred.
• Strong teamwork sense.
• Working knowledge of DVP & R.
• Problem-solving methodology experience.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Lean 6 Sigma or similar problem-solving methodology.
• Concurrent Engineering experience.
• Manufacturing processes knowledge.
• Emissions understanding.
• Applied engineering in heat transfer, noise, fluid flow, vibrations, statics/dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials.
