Electronics​/Electrical Systems Engineer Co-Op

As a member of the Blue Origin family of companies Honeybee Robotics has been at the forefront of robotics for over 40 years, establishing ourselves as pioneers in developing novel exploration systems for the most extreme planetary environments. At our Southern California location, we look to “Touch Life” by supporting planetary science, including every NASA Mars rover since Spirit and Opportunity.

We aim to “Mine the Sky” through the development of practical In‑Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) solutions. This is an onsite role at our Altadena, CA location. This is a ~5 month co‑op from January to June 2027.

• Support systems design, development, fabrication, and testing of various electrical systems.
• Embrace a hands‑on learning approach and aspire to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to product development.
• Draft, update, and procure with technical documents (mechanical part drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.).
• Conduct analog and digital circuit debug.
• Perform circuit analysis.
• Execute test work instructions.
• Perform electrical evaluation and selection of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, position, etc.).
• Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes.

• Enrolled in Electrical Engineering or equivalent accredited program.
• Solid circuit theory fundamentals.
• Experienced with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout tool or equivalent.
• Familiar with embedded C development.
• Familiar with Spice simulation.
• Proficient with using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and LCR meters.
• Detail oriented with an emphasis on design documentation and test summary report generation.
• Passion for Blue’s Mission with a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

• Relevant internship/co‑op and academic project experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills relevant to the internship as well as leadership qualities.

Base Pay Range for: CA applicants is $22.50 - $31.50. Other site ranges may differ.
