Description
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a structural Engineer-in-Training I or II to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Larkspur, California office. This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits.
A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors early in your career as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in California, Martin/Martin’s national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country, with strong collaboration with our headquarters office in Lakewood, Colorado.

The Teams

Responsibilities
- Utilize computer design and graphics software to complete project Construction Documents.
- Study and apply building code, material code and/or jurisdictional requirements to complete project design calculations under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Assist Project Manager in Construction Administration, including checking of submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations.
- Communicate and coordinate project design with clients, other team consultants, and contractors.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
- Has passed FE Examination
- 0-4 years’ experience
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in the Larkspur, CA area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
Desired
- Master's degree in engineering from an engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.
- Bachelor’s degree received from an institution with ABET accreditation in field of study.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Working knowledge of building and material design codes
- Experience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (Auto Desk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
