SSOE Group is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to support the structural engineering team in Troy, MI. The intern will perform assigned tasks under close supervision, learn department standards and tools (Revit/AutoCAD a plus), and use AI-enabled tools provided by the company to enhance productivity.

SSOE Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work onsite in the Troy, MI office. The intern will perform assigned structural engineering tasks under close supervision, follow department standards and procedures, and support project deliverables on schedule and within budget.

• Perform assigned tasks under the close supervision of the Department Manager or designee.
• Receive and follow specific, detailed instruction and learn department standards, methods, and procedures.
• Use basic computer tools;
  Revit or AutoCAD skills are a plus.
• Meet deadlines for daily duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in occasional local client visits (local travel may be required).
• Maintain required credentials for travel (valid driver’s license as required).

• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with interest in Structural Engineering or completed structural engineering coursework.
• Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
• Registered with the Office of Professional Experience Program or equivalent co-op office.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.

This is an onsite position in Troy, MI. Daily in-person attendance is required; remote or hybrid work is not available.

Salary range: $20 - $23 per hour, depending on year in school.

SSOE provides training and responsible access to industry-leading AI large language models and vibe-coding platforms, integrating these tools into roles to enhance productivity and workflows. Interns will receive training and support to leverage these AI tools.
