The team produces professional live broadcasts that allow athletes, teams, schools, and fans to experience games beyond the venue. Services include live play-by-play broadcasting, video production, on-air commentary, streaming, and full game-day production support. Responsibilities and learning opportunities include researching teams, players, statistics, and storylines; assisting with pre‑game preparation; participating in live play‑by‑play and/or color commentary; collaborating with producers and production crew members; and supporting pre‑ and post‑game segments and on‑air interviews when appropriate.
This internship is designed for students and aspiring broadcasters interested in gaining real‑world experience in sports media and live broadcasting. Interns will receive guidance and feedback from the Gameday Media team while developing their on‑air presence, communication skills, preparation techniques, and understanding of live sports production.
Qualifications- Strong interest in sports broadcasting, sports media, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to speak clearly and confidently.
- Knowledge of football and/or other relevant sports, including rules, strategies, and terminology.
- Interest in developing play‑by‑play and sports commentary skills.
- Strong preparation and research habits, with attention to detail when gathering statistics and background information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with producers, commentators, and production team members.
- Comfort speaking in front of cameras and in live broadcast environments.
- Ability to remain composed and adaptable in a fast‑paced live production setting.
- Previous broadcasting, announcing, journalism, or sports media experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work on‑site in Stockton, CA, with reliable transportation and flexibility for evenings and weekends.
