Studio DJ; Volunteer Independent Contractor

Position Summary

The 401 Plug is seeking DJs who love creating live mixes that represent the culture. DJs may host recurring shows, guest mixes, live streams, or special events.

• Produce high-quality DJ mixes
• Arrive prepared for scheduled sessions
• Promote your shows
• Support station events
• Maintain professional conduct
• Help recruit listeners

Earn commissions from:

• DJ sponsor ships
• Event bookings
• Advertising referrals
• Studio rental referrals
• Merchandise sales

• Experienced DJ
• Music knowledge
• Professional attitude
• Reliable equipment knowledge

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong knowledge of multiple music genres
• Ability to mix music professionally
• Own headphones and preferred DJ equipment (if applicable)
• Ability to perform live or prerecorded mixes
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Strong understanding of music programming and audience engagement
• Available for scheduled broadcasts and events

• Experience with controllers such as Pioneer DJ, Denon DJ, Numark, Serato, Rekordbox, or VirtualDJ
• Previous club, radio, or event DJ experience
• Existing fan base or social media presence
• Experience hosting live events
