Job Summary

Bank of America is looking for an experienced Mortgage Lending Specialist to originate residential mortgage loans and provide a full spectrum of banking and lending products. The role is full‑time and based in a financial center.

Responsibilities
  • Originate First Mortgage and HELOC lending products in person or by telephone.
  • Provide products such as Auto Loans, Credit Cards, and Core Banking products.
  • Work to balance sales performance, operational risk, and client relationship care.
  • Offer specialized and personalized service, providing advice and guidance through each stage of a client’s financial plan.
  • Build and deepen relationships with new and existing clients by leveraging the bank’s capabilities.
  • Analyze clients’ financial needs and recommend financial services that best align with their priorities.
  • Present potential home lending product solutions, assist in mortgage application, gather supporting documentation, and keep clients informed throughout the process via calls, email, and online messaging.
  • Connect with clients through outreach, pipeline management, and consistent follow‑up to meet their needs.
  • Respond to client requests and refer to appropriate internal partners based on client needs.
  • Partner with financial center leaders, performance managers, and market leaders to provide guidance and coaching to associates about delivering an exceptional client experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of mortgage origination experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to assess client needs, leadership, and consultative sales.
  • Active listening skills and a proactive approach to client interaction.
  • Professional, effective, and confident communication in person and over the phone.
  • Critical thinker able to analyze financial and credit data and advise clients on product and pricing policies.
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to manage the full client end‑to‑end experience and resolve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, driven, and performance‑oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work weekends and/or extended hours as needed.
  • Team player and collaborator, translating knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to learn and understand technology.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics and compliance with all federal and state regulatory policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a financial center with goals met or exceeded.
  • Knowledge in analyzing and comprehending complex financial data and providing financial alternatives.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Solid time‑management skills with ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in a loan origination role in a retail environment and knowledge of Mortgage Products (Conventional, Jumbo, HELOC, Government).
  • Understanding of structuring, processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS applications and laptop technology.

  • Pay Range: $26.00 – $30.83 per hour, plus eligible for a formulaic incentive plan.
