The Loan Officer is responsible for developing, managing, and servicing a portfolio of consumer and retail loans, including auto loans and personal loans. This position focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying lending needs, and providing exceptional service throughout the lending process while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of lending or banking experience preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of consumer loan processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of consumer lending guidelines and credit analysis.
• Understanding of federal and state regulations governing consumer lending.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, dealerships, and other business partners.
• Ability to accurately document loan transactions.
• Knowledge of required loan documentation and regulatory disclosures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Develop and maintain customer relationships by identifying borrowing needs and recommending appropriate loan products.
• Originate consumer, auto, and personal loans in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Interview applicants, gather financial information, and evaluate loan requests.
• Analyze creditworthiness by reviewing credit reports, income, assets, debt, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare complete and accurate loan packages for approval and closing.
• Guide customers through the loan process, providing timely communication from application through funding.
• Ensure an exceptional customer experience by delivering prompt, professional, and personalized service.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell deposit accounts and other bank products and services.
• Maintain regular contact with customers to strengthen relationships and encourage future business.
• Partner with loan operations, credit staff, and other departments to ensure efficient loan processing and closing.
• Assist customers with loan renewals, refinances, and modifications as appropriate.
• Monitor loan portfolio quality and follow up on documentation exceptions.
• Contact delinquent borrowers to obtain payment commitments and assist with collection efforts when appropriate.
• Stay current on lending regulations, bank policies, and industry best practices through ongoing education and training.
• Represent the Bank professionally through community involvement and customer outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Position operates in a professional office environment
• Routine use of standard office equipment, i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, calculators, and filing cabinets
• Must be able to remain sedentary 50% of the time
• Employee will occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• May occasionally travel within the Bank's service area for customer visits, community events, or business development activities.
