Position Summary
The Retail Support Specialist provides essential back-office and compliance support to teller and branch operations, ensuring that frontline staff can focus on delivering excellent customer service. This role assists with transaction research, account corrections, and administrative processes that enable branches to operate smoothly and efficiently. In addition, the Retail Support Specialist supports certain Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions under the guidance of the Director of Retail Support, including tasks related to the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and the preparation or review of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
By combining attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to compliance, the Retail Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining operational accuracy, reducing risk, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the bank’s retail network.
- High school diploma
- 3+ years of banking, customer service, or administrative experience.
- Familiarity with retail banking operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking systems.
- Assist with back-office functions that support teller operations.
- Process routine administrative tasks related to retail banking. Maintain accurate documentation and reports for branch support activities.
- Collaborate with teller managers and frontline staff to resolve operational needs.
- Assist with CTR, CIP, and other BSA related retail procedures as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations in support activities.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Professional communication skills.
- Team player with a service-oriented mindset.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Some travel to branch or offsite locations may be required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and operate a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must comply with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Demonstrate confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment in all interactions.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
