The Division Controller will be responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling the financial operation of the Kentucky division in Mount Sterling. The Controller serves as a strategic business partner to the Division Manager, providing timely financial insight to support profitable growth, capital investment, operational improvement, and long-range planning. The Controller also ensures compliance with corporate accounting policies, maintains effective internal controls, and supports the standardization of financial processes that safeguard the company’s assets and support the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility; bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, and exhibit strong analytical, leadership, planning, teamwork and management skills.
- Manage the division’s accounting function and maintain the systems that provide essential financial information.
- With the support of a full-time Accountant, manage accounts payable, accounts receivable (including credit terms), budget preparation, variance analysis, and the preparation of other ad hoc reports as requested by the Division Manager or the Corporate Controller.
- Manage the accuracy of the costing system and related controls, including shop floor reporting.
- Maintain the General Ledger and subsidiary records to ensure accurate financial data and the timely preparation of financial reports.
- Develop and maintain accounting systems that facilitate and integrate the company’s cost accounting, general accounting, fixed asset and budgetary activities and that support the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
- Maintain a planning and budgeting system that provides sound financial projections for corporate management’s use in planning future business strategies.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls and sound financial practices designed to support reliable financial reporting, safeguard Company assets, and reduce the risk of fraud, error, and misappropriation.
- Comply with established policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, and adherence to state and federal regulations, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
- Responsible for Divisional finance initiatives and to lead efforts regarding the development of accurate cost standards, profitability analysis (including by part), accurate inventory counts and records, and coordination of the capital appropriations approval process.
- Responsible for developing and submitting accurate and timely reporting in accordance with Corporate’s financial review cycle, any annual or other audits conducted by the Company or third parties, or any regulatory or agency reporting.
