Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Investment Operations Analyst!

About the Role

The Senior Investment Operations Analyst will provide overall day-to-day investment operations support to the Company’s Investment Portfolio Managers, traders and Finance department. The primary responsibilities of this position include the back and middle office functions of investment operations.

What you will do
  • Ensuring data quality in trade order management system and downstream systems is of excellent quality by providing oversight and review to trade entry and reconciliation processes
  • Responsible for preparing various reports, including trade activity summary in support of monthly Investment Committee package; alternative asset transactions; daily asset allocation and end of day trade file notifications; daily extended cash forecast; and ad hoc corporate action reporting
  • Taking action to ensure the timely settlement of non-standard securities transactions, including physical settlement of private placements, free receive and delivers vs. cash wires for bank loans and security payment orders (SPO’s) for factor updates. Also, having oversight over all trade settlements, including electronic (Deliver vs. Payment and Receive vs. Payment)
  • Working to ensure all voluntary corporate actions have had elections made timely, either by internal or external managers, and verifying that all elections have been provided to custodian on or before expiration date of corporate action. Monitoring to ensure corporate action was processed properly by custodian and reflected in trade order management system.
  • Participate in special projects, support internal/external audit requests, support Investment Accounting team with identifying unapplied wires and open payables/receives, process asset transfers and other ad hoc requests. Act as back-up for Derivatives Operations and Investment Operations.

Compensation

Salary Range:$99,700 – $134,800 plus eligibility for annual bonus program

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 - 8 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail while being analytically oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Continuously exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative. Results focused.
  • Occasional nights and weekends will be required.
