THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:The Financial Analyst I should demonstrate enthusiasm at the prospect of learning about retail finance and developing their professional skillset. They will be integral to the success of the business by supporting the development and execution of effective business strategies. As a member of the FP&A team, this role will help shape Ulta’s future in one of the company’s most dynamic segments.
This role helps to support core financial budgeting and reporting processes, with specific responsibilities on weekly reporting and monthly management of overhead spend. This person will partner with business leadership, helping support ad hoc analyses to deliver on strategic, financial, and operational goals.
- Reporting: Lead quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily reporting as necessary, developing deep foundational knowledge on key performance metrics. Identify and communicate both quantitative and qualitative impacts upwards to leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Monthly Forecast Management
:
In partnership with cross-functional business partners, develop and execute financial plans. Contribute to monthly forecasting meetings with partners, asking questions to drive thoughtful decision making. - Month-end Closure Support: In partnership with accounting business partners, support the monthly period close process by acting as an intermediary with the operational side of the business. Provide expense forecast information, actual expense estimates, and variance explanations where needed.
- Annual Budget Planning
:
In partnership with cross functional business partners, support annual budget planning and multi-year long-term planning initiatives. Coordinate with partners to determine overhead expense needs and understand ultimate impact to bottom-line financial. - Ad-hoc Analytics: Support miscellaneous analytics projects as needed by queuing existing systems for data, consolidating, and analyzing the data, and providing insights to solve the question at hand.
