The Tarrant to & Through (T3) Partnership aims to increase post-secondary credentials and workforce success for Tarrant County students. Currently, only 39% of adults have an associate degree or higher, despite 65% of jobs requiring post-secondary education. T3 provides resources, financial assistance, and opportunities to students and families, equipping them for successful careers. Through collaboration with various organizations, we strive for inclusive pathways to education.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Managing Director of Finance serves as the organization's senior finance executive and is accountable for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of T3's financial strategy, compliance framework, procurement governance, and overall fiscal stewardship.

As a key strategic advisor to the CEO, COO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors, the Managing Director of Finance provides financial leadership, analysis, and recommendations that inform organizational decision-making, resource allocation, risk management, and long-term sustainability.

The Managing Director of Finance is accountable for the integrity of the organization's financial operations, the effectiveness of internal controls, the stewardship of organizational assets, compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, and the overall financial health and sustainability of T3.

In addition to overseeing finance operations, the role manages key external vendors and professional service providers, ensuring effective service delivery, fiscal accountability, and alignment with organizational priorities. The position also provides executive-level oversight of technology investments, contracts, and vendor relationships to ensure technology solutions support organizational effectiveness and business continuity.

This position leads the organization's finance, procurement, vendor management, and financial compliance functions and is responsible for ensuring these functions effectively support T3's strategic priorities and operational excellence.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Managing Director of Finance directly supervises one to three mid-to-senior level team members and provides oversight of external vendors and professional service providers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing performance expectations and accountability measures
  • Conducting performance evaluations and providing coaching and development
  • Managing workload priorities and resource allocation
  • Overseeing vendor performance and contract compliance
  • Building a collaborative, customer-service-oriented culture that supports organizational goals

Potential direct reports may include:

  • Grant Accountant
  • Manager of Procurement & Business Operations
  • Other finance-related positions as assigned

The position also maintains oversight of external accounting firms, auditors, payroll providers, technology vendors, and other contracted service providers.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESFINANCEStrategy and Management Oversight
  • Supervise all finance team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead the development and execution of the organization's long-range financial strategy, annual financial plan, multi-year forecasts, and sustainability models, presenting recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Direct organizational financial planning, scenario modeling, and decision-support analyses used to guide strategic and operational investments.
  • Lead preparation of all Finance Committee materials and present recommendations regarding financial performance, forecasts, reserves, investments, risk management, and fiscal sustainability.
Financial Operations and Reporting
  • Own the preparation, presentation, and interpretation of all financial reports, annual budgets, forecasts, and audit results presented to executive leadership, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.
