BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2. Minimum of one year of clerical experience involving collections or the handling of cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, or similar financial transactions.
- 3. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
- 4. Knowledge of financial research and report preparation methods and techniques.
- 5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- 6. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- 7. Ability to maintain accurate financial records related to fines and court costs collected.
- 1. Receive and process cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, and other authorized payments; issue receipts as required.
- 2. Enter payments into the appropriate computer software and process transactions for disbursement.
- 3. Process mail-in payments and mail receipts to defendants.
- 4. Balance the cash drawer daily and prepare the required balance sheets and financial reports.
- 5. Process applications from defendants seeking payment agreements for fines and court costs.
- 6. Interview defendants, verify information provided on applications, compile required documentation, and establish individual collection files.
- 7. Maintain assigned collection files and enter payment and collection information into the computer system in a timely and accurate manner.
- 8. Monitor assigned cases to ensure compliance with payment agreements and collection requirements.
- 9. Notify defendants when accounts become past due and follow established procedures for delinquent accounts.
- 10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
SALARY: STARTING SALARY $33,953 - $35,312.00 ANNUALLY
