Loan Operations Representative 1
This is a hybrid position Pay Range: $20.31 - $27.75 hourly
The Loan Operations Representative I is responsible for performing routine loan servicing and operational tasks related to residential, consumer, and commercial loans. This role processes transactions, books and maintains loan records, and assists with servicing functions in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: processing loan payments, assisting with escrow and tax functions, updating loan and collateral records, supporting payoff and discharge activities, and maintaining documentation. The Loan Operations Representative I works under close to moderate supervision and escalates non-routine issues.
This position provides an opportunity to develop foundational knowledge of loan servicing, systems, and regulatory requirements.
Loan Servicing & Transaction Processing- Process routine financial transactions accurately and timely, including loan payments, fees, and escrow-related transactions.
- Perform basic file maintenance on loan accounts, ensuring data accuracy within the system.
- Accurately book consumer and residential loans onto the system.
- Maintain organized and complete loan documentation in accordance with department procedures and regulatory standards.
- Assist with escrow processing, including reviewing reports for property taxes, PMI, and insurance payments.
- Support the maintenance of loan insurance records by updating coverage information and tracking documentation as directed.
- Assist with monitoring hazard and flood insurance expirations and follow-up activities.
- Utilize third-party systems to update tax data and support real estate tax payment processing.
- Assist with loan payoff processing, including preparing payoff quotes and supporting documentation.
- Support discharge and lien release processes by preparing and organizing required documentation.
- Ensure completed files documented and filed according to established procedures.
- Escalate discrepancies or issues related to payoffs and discharges.
- Respond to routine internal and external inquiries related to loan servicing activities.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers, directing more complex inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to support servicing activities.
- Assist with reviewing accounts related to PMI termination and provide support in processing requests.
- Support Collection Officer by assisting with customer notifications for escrow shortages or delinquent tax items.
- Act as back-up support for departmental functions, as assigned.
- Perform all duties in compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in compliance training and professional development as required.
- Escalate any identified discrepancies, errors, or potential compliance concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- 0-2 years of banking, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic familiarity with financial services or loan documentation is a plus.
- Basic understanding of loan servicing or banking operations preferred.
- Ability to follow established procedures and instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of debits and credits is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of loan servicing processes.
- Positive attitude and commitment to customer service.
