Vice President of Finance About the Role
Quindar is looking for a Vice President of Finance to build and lead the financial team as the company enters its next stage of growth. This person will own financial planning, reporting, budgeting, audit readiness, and capital planning while giving the leadership team a clear view of company performance and the financial implications of key decisions.
This is a hands‑on leadership role. The VP of Finance should be equally comfortable building a financial model, reviewing departmental spend with a functional leader, preparing materials for the Board, managing an external audit, and supporting financing discussions.
What You’ll Do Financial Planning & AnalysisOwn Quindar’s company wide financial model, annual operating plan, forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
Maintain accurate forecasts for revenue, expenses, cash, headcount, bookings, ARR, backlog, and other key operating metrics.
Build scenario models that help leadership evaluate hiring, investments, facilities, contracts, and strategic initiatives.
Provide clear visibility into cash runway, burn, capital requirements, and the financial impact of major company decisions.
Review pricing models and active margin profiles.
Continuously improve forecasting accuracy as the company scales.
Own the financial and operating metrics used by the executive team, investors, and Board.
Maintain a consistent source of truth for KPIs across bookings, ARR, revenue, gross margin, burn, headcount, pipeline, retention, and other company metrics.
Prepare financial analysis and supporting materials for Board meetings, investor updates, fundraising, and strategic planning.
Translate financial performance into clear insights: what changed, why it changed, and what leadership should do about it.
Own departmental budgets and work directly with functional leaders to establish financial plans aligned with company priorities.
Provide leaders with regular budget vs. actuals reporting, forecasts, and recommendations.
Hold teams accountable to financial commitments while helping them understand the tradeoffs behind resource allocation.
Build processes that allow managers to make faster, better informed spending and hiring decisions.
Oversee the relationship with outsourced accounting, tax, and other financial service providers.
Lead Quindar’s annual financial statement audit and manage the external audit firm from planning through completion.
Ensure the company maintains audit ready financial records, appropriate controls, reconciliations, documentation, and accounting policies.
Own the financial close process and continuously improve the timeliness and accuracy of monthly and quarterly reporting.
Partner with Legal, Contracts, and Operations on revenue recognition, government contracts, cost allocation, compliance, and other financial requirements.
Serve as the finance owner for Quindar’s government contracts, covering milestone-based billing and collections, cost allocation across programs, and the financial requirements that come with federal contracting.
Build and maintain the systems and controls needed for government contract compliance (e.g., DCAA/FAR-oriented requirements, cost accounting, and any incurred-cost or program reporting obligations), and partner with Legal, Contracts, and Operations on new and existing awards.
Support future equity fundraising, including financial diligence, investor materials, data rooms, modeling, and management presentations.
